Central NY’s ‘brightest and merriest’ Parade of Lights is ready to ring in the holiday season

Prepare to ignite your holiday cheer, Upstate New York. One of the season’s grandest and most festive events is just around the corner.
The 10th annual Baldwinsville Parade of Lights is scheduled to dazzle crowds at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 in the heart of this Central New York village.
Organizers from the Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Company say this year’s glowing spectacle will be even brighter and merrier with over 165 illuminated vehicles and floats from multiple counties around Upstate New York including fire departments, ambulances, police, businesses, community groups and more.
Parade vehicles will start at the intersection of Oswego St. and Smokey Hollow Rd. and plans to end on Water St. around 6:40 p.m.
The light parade’s grand finale features an appearance from Santa Claus who will lead the tree-lighting ceremony in the village square on Denio Street. Vendors will be there with hot chocolate and sweet treats to keep your hands and belly warm in the cold winter night.
Once the tree is lit, fireworks burst overhead for an epic end to this festive event. Afterwards, you can also meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Thousands of people flock to the village to take part in this beloved tradition, so it is wise to arrive early and take advantage of Small Business Saturday events at local shops and restaurants in town as you wait for the parade to start.
Don’t forget to bring your letters to Santa with you. A special red mailbox will be at the corner of Oswego Street and West Genesee Street with a direct line to the North Pole itself.
